Volunteer and Senior Services

Munroe Regional Medical Center has over 1,200 volunteers working in over 60 different areas of the hospital. Last year, over 198,000 hours of volunteer service were donated to the patients, staff and visitors of Munroe Regional.

Parish Nurse/Health Ministry Coordinator
Responsibilities include
: Direct the Wholistic Healing Institute, an arts and medicine program at Munroe's Pastoral Care department, as well as directing the dual programs of Parish Nursing and Health Ministry.  Preventive medicine in the faith community, these two program combine body, mind and spirit. Health advocacy is taught as well as the belief that there is healing, even in the absence of a cure.

  • 1,292 active men, women and teenage volunteers
  • 198,000+ volunteer service hours
  • Volunteer service performance rated in the top 99% for patient satisfaction.
  • U.S. Presidential Service Award given to 524 active Munroe volunteers recognizing their exemplary service for the year.
  • Operates and donates all proceeds after expenses to Munroe from the Gift Shop, uniform sales, newborn baby photos, Auxiliary Conference Center rentals and special event fundraisers.
  • Completed a $500,000 5-year pledge commitment to Munroe Regional.
  • Created a systematic volunteer recruitment, placement and retention plan for 2006. Trained over 70 volunteers as mentor/trainers for service excellence.
